ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER WHO WE ARE We are an animal adoption center located in Crown Point, Indiana under the direction of the Lake County Sheriff's Department. Since taking over the shelter in October 2003, Sheriff Roy Dominguez has reversed what was once a 97% euthanasia rate to the present 98.69% adoption rate. We are a no-kill, anti-euthanasia facility of adoptable pets. We also send pets to rescues when our facility is over crowded. Volunteers can walk dogs, play with cats, wash food bowls, unfold newspaper or wash laundry. At our shelter, volunteers choose to what capacity they want to serve. NEUTER SCOOTER Neuter Scooter, a traveling organization that neuters/spays cats for a discounted rate, comes to the shelter once a month. During this day, on the average 250 cats are either neutered or spaded at the shelter.
