In the ever-growing complex world of law enforcement, there is a call for a more educated police officer. The Lake County Sheriff Department, in cooperation with various universities and higher learning institutions, has offered a comprehensive intern program. This program is for the college senior in the last year of student’s degree. This student must be of good standing with his school and c average or above. The student must apply through his/her, school 6 months prior to the start of the program.

The areas that the student will be working in will be police and criminal justices related. For example: patrol, traffic, detective bureau, bureau of identification, marine, helicopter, and crime lab. These are just a few of the areas that we offer to the student that is accepted. At this time The Lake County Sheriffs Department only accepts 2 students per semester. All those that are interested please contact Sgt. W.
