The Staff Services Division consists of the Bureau of Information, Human Resources, Bookkeeping, Telecommunications, Training, Property/Evidence Management and Vehicle Maintenance Operations.

Human Resources – Personnel / Payroll is staffed Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Bookkeeping – Accounts payable is staffed Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

Telecommunications – The Telecommunications Division is staffed Sunday through Saturday, 24 –hours a day. This is the division that receives the 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and in turn dispatches the Police Officers to handle the incidents. The Telecommunications Operators are trained how to answer and dispatch on the telephone calls they receive. Additionally, the Operators are trained and certified by IDACS, in order to request and receive confidential information, to assist the Police Officer in his/her response to all calls. Training – The Training Division handles all of the required training for the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Police Officers. The D.A.R.E., Explorer and College Intern programs also fall under the Training Division. The Training Division’s telephone number is (219) 755-3416.

Vehicle Maintenance Operations maintains the inventory as well as the servicing for the Lake County Sheriff’s Department fleet of vehicles.
